Acacia Fraternity renovation, new building planned

The Alexander Co. in Madison plans to renovate the 81-year-old Acacia Fraternity, near the UW-Madison campus, as apartments and build a four-story apartment building behind it.

The 23 high-end units in both buildings at Langdon Street and Lakelawn Place will be known as Vesta Apartments, scheduled for occupancy next August. The estimated project cost is $6.5 million.

Apartments will be furnished with amenities that include wood floors, ceramic tile floors in the kitchens and bathrooms and stainless-steel appliances.

Fellow Wisconsin Acacians,

As you may have heard big changes are in the works for the house at 222 Langdon Street!  Since late November 2007 several alumni including James McFarland, Brian Durst, Bill Andrae, Blake Hutchison, Kurt Johnson, CJ Strehl, Joe Rhodes, Eric Bingen, Mike McLean, Jay McCarthy and Josh Zimmers have been meeting and analyzing various options and solutions for upgrading and improving the living situation for the undergrad brothers.

Saturday May 3, 2008 - This year Founder's Day was a great success! Dinner was held at the Edgewater Hotel, and three of our refounding fathers present: Brian Durst, Randy Liljegren, and Kevin Heuser.
